Semaphore Road Project
The Redevelopment of Semaphore Road (Military Road to Causeway Road) will contribute to a sustainable future through the creation of a safe and attractive boulevard linking the Semaphore and Port Adelaide communities and by providing for the movement requirements of all user groups including pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and public transport users.
Construction of the project is currently in progress. Council completed the construction of the majority of the underground stormwater network in the 2007/2008 Financial Year. ETSA Utilities have recently completed the undergrounding of overhead electricity cables, removal of the old stobie poles and installation of new feature footpath lighting with funding under the Power Line Environment Scheme.
Roadworks are currently in progress which will be followed by footpath works, landscaping and street furniture installation over the 2008/09 and 2009/2010 financial years.
